  • Municipal Election Education - Interested in Local Leadership?

    Residents of North Kawartha interested in running for office or supporting a local campaign are invited to attend an upcoming Candidate and Third Party Advertiser Training Session hosted by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. This session will provide an overview of:

    •  Eligibility to run for office or act as a third party advertiser
    • The municipal nomination process
    •  Roles and responsibilities of Council members
    • Campaign finance rules and requirements

    Following the presentation, election staff from municipalities across Peterborough County, including the Township of North Kawartha, will be available to answer questions and share municipality-specific election information.

  • Public Notice – Winter Weather Advisory

    The Township of North Kawartha is advising residents that a winter storm system is expected to affect our region on Friday, February 20, 2026, bringing a mix of wintry precipitation including snow and the potential for ice pellets, as the system moves through southern and eastern Ontario.

  • Public Notice - Flags at Half-Mast at Municipal Facilities

    The Township of North Kawartha has lowered flags at all municipal facilities to half-mast in recognition of the victims of the tragic mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, which occurred on February 10, 2026.

    Flags will remain at half-mast until sunset on February 17, 2026, at which time they will be returned to full mast in accordance with the federal directive.

    The Township extends its condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this tragedy.
