The Township of North Kawartha advises residents and visitors that temporary road closures will occur along Glen Alda Road to allow for continued culvert repairs.

Dates: October 5 to October 9, 2026
Location: Various locations along Glen Alda Road between Winters Bay and County Road 620
Work: Continued culvert repairs and replacements

As the road construction progresses, closure locations will move to different areas of the roadway. While local traffic access will be maintained whenever possible, short-term closures may be necessary at active work sites.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when approaching work zones, Township staff, contractors, and equipment.

Residents requiring special access accommodations, or anyone with questions regarding this work, are encouraged to contact the North Kawartha Public Works Department.

The Township of North Kawartha advises residents, businesses, and visitors that the municipal lot located at 143 Burleigh Street, Apsley, will be temporarily closed to the public beginning October 13, 2026, until approximately November 27, 2026, to facilitate a construction project to establish an asphalt parking lot.

Alternative public parking is available at 135 Burleigh Street, Apsley.

During this period, the municipal lot will be closed to the public while construction activities are underway. 

Members of the public are reminded to use caution when approaching the construction work zone and to remain aware of Township staff, contractors, construction vehicles, and equipment operating in the area.

The Township of North Kawartha, in consultation with Peterborough County, advises residents, businesses, and visitors of upcoming construction activities related to the development of a new asphalt parking lot at 143 Burleigh Street, Apsley. 

Construction is scheduled to begin during the week of October 5, 2026, and is anticipated to continue until November 30, 2026, weather permitting. 

During construction, motorists should expect single-lane road restrictions in the area of the construction project, which may result in temporary traffic delays. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and exercise caution when travelling through the construction zone.
